BENEFITS OF BECOMING A MEMBER (NON-VOTING)

Membership in VTN would provide the following benefits to participating organizations and individuals:

• Improving access for all Virginians to quality healthcare
• Improving quality improvement/risk management initiatives
• Through telehealth access to specialists and other colleagues, attracting providers to underserved areas

Membership in VTN would enable access to:

• "Members Only" VTN Web site pages
• Networking opportunities with other members, information sharing and facilitation
• VTN members only Ning telehealth/telemedicine networking/forum discussion site: This site includes a forum under which discussion categories can be added as requested by members - for example, current discussion categories include, but are not limited to: telemental health, home health care/monitoring, barriers to implementation, oral telehealth, hospice telehealth, school-based telehealth, stroke telehealth, diabetes telehealth, reimbursement, and telehealth program business models. The Ning site also includes a section in which telehealth related photos and slide shows can be shared. Under the site messages can also be broadcast to all members.
• Aggregated information about grant possibilities (private foundations and government)
• Telehealth news e-mail alerts
• Availability of in-depth research on request regarding the application of telehealth and on model telehealth programs in specific specialties and peer-reviewed journal articles research on specific telehealth topics
• Discounted attendance at the annual Virginia Telehealth Summit
